Videos of our presentationsThe Tourney at the Victorian Blacksmiths' ConferenceThis is what you can expect to see as the culmination of the medieval education presentation Days of Knights brings to your school, faire, company promotion or vacation care program. Jason (in green and white) and Peter (in blue and yellow) explain the sport that is the tourney, and demonstrate the combat styles and techniques using rebated (blunted) metal swords that are accurate replicas of those favored by the 13th to 14th century knight. To give you an idea of the fitness and strength required, Peter weighs 68kg and is wearing 34kg+ of armor and equipment. Lillian acts as our safety marshal during combat activities, ensuring that spectators are safe and that the combatants don't lose vital pieces of equipment. On the Making of a QuernPeter explains the process of making a quern (grain grinding equipment) and the philosophy behind why we take a hands on approach to history. Quern making 101 (.wmv) The Making of MailleA short video (.wmv)of Jason and Peter making maille (often called chainmail) at the 2006 Yarra Valley e-Learning Conference.
