For Faires, Fetes and Festivals

Days of Knights is able to provide colour and excitement for your festival, fete or fair. From teaching dances and games, demonstrating a range of crafts including weaving, spinning thread, embroidery, chainmail making, armoring, calligraphy and illumination, juggling and, of course, intensely exciting battles between our knights wielding medieval swords and wearing up to 34kg of medieval armor.

Iit's not just a display, as members of the public are invited to, hands-on, learn the skills and take part in the games and dancing. Children of all ages can walk away with a piece of maille (chainmail armor) they have made, or a length of thread they have spun with a drop spindle or made with a lucette. They can while away the time playing medieval games such as Viking tug of war, the traditional Swedish game of Kubb or cod-fish tossing. In a just a few minutes they can learn how to juggle with scarves or learn about all manner of medieval crafts. It's medieval education, but folks are having so much fun they don't even realise that they're learning, too!

Days of Knights is a fixture at Victorian and Australian Blacksmithing Conferences, and appears at street festivals, medieval festivals and school functions. The Melbourne International Food and Wine festival asked us to bring our grain grinding project to their International Flour Day. We have been invited to appear at interstate festivals. To add the excitement of the Middle Ages to your next event, why not give us a call?
