Dill Anethum graveolens
Annual. Leaves and seeds used in meat, salad and fish dishes. Compainion plant to cabbages. Leaves used as garnish. Cheerful yellow dill flower attracts benefical predators (ladybirds, overflies, lacewings) into the garden. One hoverfly will consume 1200 aphids.
Likes sun and pots.

Lemon Balm Melissa Officinalis
Perennial plant with white flowers in summer.
Tea used medicinally. Leaves soothe insect bites. Lemon flavour used in cooking and pot-pourri.
Plant in shade in heavy or sandy soil. Will attract birds.

Perennial herb that can grow up to 1 metre. Performs best in the warmer months and will require protections in the cooler months. The leaves are traditionally used in Malaysian cooking but the swollen stems can be used for making Teas.

Lovage Levisticum officinale
A hardy perennial herb which is grown for its large, coarsely toothed, divided leaves, which give a celery taste to soups, sauces and casseroles. Leaf salks and stems can be blanced and eaten like celery. Cut back flowering stems in autumn.
Thrives in moist, well drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position. Ideal for kitchen gardens, perfect for pots.
